Licensed Contractor Unbeliveable. My $1,400 Bosch tanked after 10 years. Got this until I could find parts for old Bosch. Not looking for repair parts now. This thing is impressive. Busted up an 8ft wide by 100ft 4in deep drive in 2 days by myself at the age of 50. Yes bits are hardened. It has a 15 amp plug even though it says 2200 watts. According to kil-o-watt it pulls 1870 watts@120 volts. Make sure you use a 12ga extension cord for runs up to 100ft. Tried it on my 14ga but voltage drop was severe and strained tool. What it nice is this design has time out of patent so anyone can build it now. It is the same design my grandfather used in the 1960s. Yes it’s old school but buy a set of welder gloves to “soften” the blows. Really $159? Remember also to add oil it comes only with a drop of test oil you will burn it out if you don’t. Manual says shell rotella which is Diesel engine oil 40w. Came with retightning wrench, oil sight glass removal tool for oil. Very sharp blunt tip bit and 1 1/2 wide…
Worth Every Penny As a residential builder/remodeler, blasting out concrete comes up fairly often. We have a number of electric hammers, all Bosch and Makita. We had a job come up recently where we needed an additional demo hammer because of the amount and thickness of slabs we had to remove. It was either buy another $1200+ hammer, rent one for $100/day, or buy this unknown quantity for $120 and have it for as long as it lasts. Well we got our money’s worth and then some. We’ve used it for 3 days straight, and the thing works just as well as our big Makita hammer. For all I know it may kick the bucket tomorrow, but it certainly gave us our money’s worth this week. Looking at the other reviews, some people haven’t had good luck with these, but I would buy one again in a second. It comes with 2 bits, but for an extra $30 you can get the 3″x12″ TR Industrial TR89103 Hex Shank Scraping Chisel. This works better for creating the fracture lines you need to break concrete out in bigger chunks. Make…
Safe and effective when used as directed This is equal in performance with any similar demo hammer that is electrically powered. It is so inexpensive compared to a ‘name brand’, that you could buy 4 or 5 of these for less than the cost of those with a pedigree. It will also pay for itself if you use it just twice, over renting a similar tool from a big box store. Make no mistake however, this is NOT a 90 lb pneumatic breaker/jackhammer with a 4″ chisel tip. It will take most of forever if your project is any more that a few hundred sq.ft. If you have the time, it will get the job done-just in time for your retirement party. It is also not suitable for breaking natural rock-just not enough power. The package arrived within “Prime” shipping time, double boxed. There was slight damage to the plastic case, but not enough to make in unusable, or warrant a return. Although the tool had some oil in it, it needed about 3-4 ounces to fill up to the top of the oil chamber’s sight glass. Resist…
