Good basic starter set This seems like a good set for someone who uses tools once and awhile for basic things. All the tools seem to be of good quality, and the bag is great. The bag has pockets in the inside too which is nice to keep things separated, and plenty of space to throw in some more tools, or add on. For the price it’s worth it I’d say for more casual use. I haven’t used them yet, but the hammer feels a lot like my higher priced Pittsburgh hammer from Harbor Freight, and the tools feel somewhat better than similar sets by Apollo, if that helps with determining the quality.
Okay basic tool kit This is an okay basic home tool kit. In here you will find about every tool you will need for tasks around the house and whatnot. My main complaint is that the case does not allow you to organize the tools very well. I would have given this five stars but for the fact that the case really does not do much more than act as a big bag in which the tools can be thrown haphazardly. On the plus side, there are some useful tools here. There is a very nice screwdriver set, useful Allen wrenches, and a nice socket wrench set. I just wish that they put a little more thought into the carry bag. RJB.
Nice set, but I’m giving it to my Girlfriend’s son This is not a toy set, that is not why I am giving it to a kid. These tools will do fine for common tasks around the home or office. Hanging a picture, putting Ikea stuff together, changing a vent cover…yadda yadda. The levers on the slip joint pliers didn’t line up evenly. Not a big deal, but it just bugs me a little. The hammer and allen wrenches seem well constructed. Tape measure is ok, but I fele like it wouldn’t survive a lot of use. I also purchased a 3 piece pliers set from Stanley, and the Stanley pliers are slightly better quality and feel more solid in the hand. I’m sure this Amazon set will last my girlfriend, and her son for years. However at just about $10 more, I’m going to go with the Stanley tool set. Again, the Amazon set if fine, and well priced, for what it is intended for. As the description states, it’s good for the office, dorms, or a kitchen drawer. My reason for going with Stanley is I like to tell myself I need something a little more “manly”.
