Why rent a hammer for $50-75 per day? This is a nicely-built tool. It’s all-metal, except for the handle grips which are decent quality plastic. It is a copy of a Bosch 35 pound hammer. I’ve used it now on some all-day projects and it’s worked well. I’ve busted out a concrete walkway 20x3ft and also got an additional Neiko spade bit for digging clay soil to trench in-ground lawn sprinklers and dig out old shrub stumps, and dig a couple of fence post holes. It does tend to get very warm, so I learned that it’s best to give it a rest after a couple of minutes so it doesn’t get overheated. I think these generic tools’ weak spot is the motor commutator. If it overheats, the connections to the copper windings can burn off the commutator and there goes the electric motor. So, the best thing is to not let the unit overheat, and don’t force the tool while using it; just let it do the work at its pace. I’ve filled up the oil tank once, and in all this use so far it doesn’t seem to consume very much at all. Maybe the oil…

If you are on the fence about which hammer to buy don’t hesitate on this one that is $25 cheaper and includes 2 bits.

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:03 Mins Worked great for 3” concrete patio walkway. Next will be a 6”. Should work great for any demo needing to be done (Bathroom, floors, tiles, concrete).
